Bill restricting second trimester abortions in Indiana takes step forward

    WSBT 22

It's a step forward for a bill restricting second trimester abortions in Indiana.

The House Public Policy Committee passed the bill by a 9-to-4 vote.

It bans so-called "dismemberment abortions" unless they're needed to save a woman's life.

These abortions are typically performed after the 14th week of pregnancy.

The bill will go before the full House for a vote later this week.
