One person injured after car crashes into building on Lincolnway East
One person was injured in a crash on the 1200 block of Lincolnway East, near Mishawaka High School Wednesday.
A vehicle crashed into a building, according to Mishawaka Fire Department.
The driver, 30-year-old John Whiting, was taken to the hospital in serious condition, according to the Mishawaka Police Department.
Police say a Sedan was heading eastbound before the crash. It crossed the center line then went onto the lawn in front of Mishawaka High School, then crossed the road and went into the home on opposite side of the street.
Whiting was unconscious and unresponsive when an off duty sheriff reserve came on scene. She administered CPR. Then a responding Mishawaka officer administered Narcan. Whiting was then taken to the hospital.
People were home at the time of the crash, but there were no injuries inside. There is significant damage to the home.
