Notre Dame suspends Stepherson, Holmes indefinitely
SOUTH BEND —
Distractions are often the enemy of CFB teams during bowl preparation.
Well the Fighting Irish had to deal with a major distraction less than their weeks away from their appearance in the Citrus Bowl.
The University of Notre Dame has suspended two football players indefinitely.
Head Coach Brian Kelly says sophomore wide receiver Kevin Stepherson and freshman running back C.J. Holmes have been suspended from all football activities.
Our partners at the South Bend Tribune report they were arrested on Friday night at UP Mall in Mishawaka.
Police say they were trying to steal clothes worth about $140.
Stepherson and four other Notre Dame players were arrested last year in Fulton County.
He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor marijuana possession in the case.
He was sentenced to a year conditional discharge program and is still on probation.
