One woman shot after a robbery in South Bend

SOUTH BEND — A woman was shot at a South Bend business Monday.

It happened just after 2 p.m. at Howard's Mart in the 400 block of Howard St.

Officers arrived on scene to find a woman with a gunshot wound.

They say she was conscious and breathing upon arrival. Officers say her injuries are non-life threatening.

Police say the shooting happened after a robbery at the store.

The suspect was described to police as a black male wearing dark clothing.
