Congress reaches agreement to fund the government and avoid shutdown -- for now
Breaking news in Washington Monday night: Congressional negotiators have reached an agreement to fund the government.
The talks stalled over the weekend because of Democrat demands to limit federal immigration detentions, but lawmakers apparently broke through that impasse.
We won't know officials details until tomorrow (Tuesday), but "the pact came in time to alleviate any threat of a second partial government shutdown this weekend," an Associated Press article said Monday.
Now, they just need the President's support.
His signature is required before the deadline this Friday, Feb. 15.
