The Coast Guard said it has recovered the body of a missing kayaker in Lake Michigan.

Investigators said a two-person kayak capsized near Grand Haven Saturday night.

One of the paddlers made it back to shore. The other never resurfaced.

The victim is described as a 23-year-old man from Coopersville.

Rescuers used divers and a helicopter in their search for the kayaker.

And it was a deadly weekend on the water in Gary.

First responders said two people drowned at the Wells Street Beach Saturday.

Another person was hospitalized.

A total of five people were pulled from Lake Michigan in Gary.

Tragedy was averted, however, for a struggling swimmer in Michigan City.

Life-guards rescued a young man from Lake Michigan at Washington Park Beach Saturday afternoon.

He was about 50 yards from shore.

Lifeguards used a truck to help tow him to safety.
