Elkhart officers shown beating suspect in video are charged

New developments in the case of the Elkhart police officers accused of using excessive force against a suspect.

Misdemeanor battery charges have now been filed against Corporals Cory Newland and Joshua Titus.

The video from back in January shows them punching a handcuffed suspect after he spit on one of them.

Mayor Tim Neese is calling for Indiana State Police to investigate the excessive force allegations against the department.
