Family escapes house fire safely in St. Joseph County

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY — Sunday night firefighters in Clay Township battled a house fire.

It happened in the 20000 block of Old Mill Road near St. Patrick's Park around 10 p.m.

Officials say the fire began in the home's attached garage.

It was then contained to the garage and second floor attic space.

Everyone inside the home made it out safely.
