Fire destroys LaPorte Co. home

Fire crews say the home that caught fire early this morning is now considered a total loss.They say no one was home at the time of the fire.

We're told it started on the garage and moved to the house.

This all started just before 4:30 a.m. at a home in the 2900 block of East County Road 100 South. That's just east of LaPorte.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Officials say it appears a riding tractor parked in the garage caught on fire.
