Flagstar Bank buys out 52 branches of Wells Fargo, some local banks affected
Customers at former Wells Fargo banks are starting to get things straightened out.
Flagstar Bank bought out 52 branches of Wells Fargo and that's affecting some local banks.
WSBT 22 found branches in Mishawaka busier than usual Tuesday. This comes after the new bank struggled Monday to create new online accounts, transfer funds, among other issues.
Other banks have noticed an increase in new customers recently.
"Changing financial institutions is a big deal whether it's your choice or whether it's not,” said Melissa Shaw, marketing director, 3Rivers. “There are going to be things that you didn't think of and things where you need to get this thing switched over and there is effort involved, either way. If you want to change, now is the time to do it while it's already being done for you."
A Flagstar official says they're obviously aware of these issues and working to resolve them. They apologized for any frustrations and inconveniences.
