Goshen church youth group in Haiti expected home Thursday
Members of a youth group from a Goshen church have safely made it to the airport in Port-au-Prince and are expected home later today (Thursday), according to Drew Richey, a pastor at River Oaks Community Church.
The 13 high school age students and five adult leaders from River Oaks Community church were stranded in Haiti after protests and riots broke out.
The group was originally supposed to fly back Monday, but flights out of the airport were halted.
Members of the student ministry had been in Haiti on a mission trip. They were outside of Port-au-Prince visiting orphanages, serving meals and working on painting projects.
