With back to school time upon us, the South Bend NAACP held a statewide education summit Saturday

Educators and others discussed the current state of education in Indiana and the best way to make improvements. The theme of the summit today was "breaking the school to prison pipeline"

"We have got to stop implementing laws that stop our young people in their tracks before they can even fly," said NAACP Indiana Conference President Barbara Bolling-Williams.

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People plans to revisit this issue again in two months during their state conference in Ft. Wayne.
