Indiana State Trooper stops vehicle, takes $3.5 million worth of drugs off the streets

    An Indiana State Trooper made a traffic stop and discovered $2.5 million worth of marijuana and $1 million worth of vape cartridges yesterday, March 13, according to a press release.

    They say the trooper stopped a vehicle on I-70, near the 66 mm, for a traffic violation of following too closely.

    After pulling the car over, the trooper smelled and observed "criminal indicators."

    Police say the trooper discovered 250 pounds of marijuana and 50,000 vape cartridges filled with THC.

    The street value of the marijuana is estimated to be $2.5 million and the cartridges are estimated to be worth $1 million, according to the press release.

    The driver was identified as 27-year-old Danny Luttrell of Indianapolis and the passenger is 27-year-old Brandon Pierson, also of Indianapolis.

    The two were taken into custody and transported to Hendricks County Jail.
