A fourth person has now died in a crash on the Indiana Toll Road.

State police say the driver of the car going the wrong way, Chintan Patel, has now died.

The crash happened about 7:30 p.m. Sunday near the 83 mile marker, near the Mishawaka exit.

Police say Patel from South Bend was going westbound in the eastbound passing lane and hit a Chevy Tahoe.

Patel's Toyota then collided with a semi.

A Chevy Malibu swerved to avoid the Toyota, went through the median and came to a rest in a westbound lane.

Three people in the Tahoe were killed, 42-year-old Denita Rice, 12-year-old Makayla Lanier and 1-year-old Bryson Rice. All were from Painesville, Ohio.

Two other people in the Tahoe, including a 10-year-old, are in the hospital.

The driver of the semi and the Malibu were not seriously hurt.

Police believe alcohol may a factor in this crash.
