MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WSBT) — Downtown Mishawaka saw the grand opening of the city's first historical museum over the weekend.
The ribbon cutting happened Saturday morning, welcoming the donors that made the museum possible.
One of the goals of the Mishawaka Historical Museum is to help enrich the city's youth and visitors alike on the history of the area.
Mishawaka Historical Museum President Pete De Kever said, "Our exhibits are organized thematically, there's business and industries which is our largest exhibit, we also have churches and faith, historic landmarks, famous Mishawakans, schools, military heritage, and we also have a working train, model train collection ... that was owned by the founder of our museum."
The museum opens to the public on March 18.
