Mishawaka man gets 17 years for gun theft
A Mishawaka man will spend more than 17 years in prison for stealing guns from a store.
A federal judge sentenced Michael Barber for the theft of guns from a Shipshewana dealer in February of 2017.
Barber was convicted back in May.
He broke into the store with two other people and stole 15 guns and a crossbow.
Police have recovered eight of the guns, including two that were used in crimes in Chicago.
Barber was convicted of assault on a Michigan state trooper ten days after the gun thefts.
He's also been convicted of home invasion, burglary, theft and auto theft in Indiana.
