"A big weight has been lifted off my shoulders,” said Furnivall. “I can move around do things on a regular basis hurts my body. It’s a big stress relief for me."

Natalie Kilheeney, a Licensed Acupuncturist and owner of Beyond Zen in Granger, says cupping is a healing technique that's been used for thousands of years.

"It helps to bring up stagnant blood flow to the area while reducing inflammation and taking out toxins in the body,” said Kilheeney.

Natalie places a flaming cotton ball inside the cup for heat, and then places the cup ono the patient’s skin for up to 5 minutes to create suction.

“They feel pain free, lighter, less stressed,” said Kilheeney. “Cupping also helps alleviate the nervous system, so if you have anxiety or high blood pressure, it’s going to help."
