Murder conviction against a South Bend man will stand
An appeals court has upheld the conviction against Michael Young of South Bend.
He was convicted last summer and sentenced to 50 years for the murder of 27-year-old Markest Flowers.
Young shot him in downtown South Bend back in 2016.
He admitted to shooting Flowers after asking him about someone taking money from a female friend.
Young's attorneys said the prosecutor shouldn't have been allowed to show pictures of Bibles that Flowers was carrying or Bible verses written on his shoes.
The Indiana Court of Appeals ruled the judge made no errors and upheld the conviction and sentence.
