New city gateway introduced for the city of South Bend
SOUTH BEND —
A new city gateway has been introduced for the city of South Bend.
On Monday people gathered for the unveiling of a new entryway that celebrates the connection between the Pokagon tribe and the city of South Bend.
Located along U.S. 31 at the exit for State Road 23.
At the ceremony, veterans raised the flags for the entryway.
Mayor Pete Buttigieg spoke about the bond between South Bend and the Pokagon Tribe.
A chairman for the Pokagon Band spoke as well.
