Notre Dame fans react to Knute Rockne uniforms

We're hours away from seeing Notre Dame take on the Navy.

The fighting Irish will be sporting a classy new look on the field.

The uniforms pay homage to former coach Knute Rockne.

These uniform changes are also to recognize this last game of the season, as well as it being the first season in the new renovated stadium.

We caught up with some fans to hear their thoughts about tomorrow's game and uniforms.

It's the last game of the season and fans are coming from all over to see Notre Dame play the Navy.

"Absolutely is a bucket list. I'm here with my brother and sister-in-law. Three other sisters and another brother-in-law. We've traveled from New Jersey, Georgia and San Antoni to be here,” said Cathy Coyle.

Notre Dame and Navy have been playing since 1927. That relationship grew in the 1940s.

That's why some fans say this is the game to attend.

"It's the best game. Senior day, last home game. You couldn't have picked a better game,” said Coyle.

Notre Dame fans can expect to see their players in a whole new uniform.

Pieces that were created to honor former coach Knute Rockne.

We showed fans what the uniforms look like.

“I like the helmet. I think the helmet replicates the old style helmet for sure,” said Darrell Freeland.

“I think the jerseys with the leather throwback on it looks very good for the Navy game. Especially since it's one of our big rivals,” said Bradein Freeland.

"Wow. I hope there is going to be a face mask on there on that throw back is there? That is amazing. This is the first time that I've seen it. It's incredible,” said Coyle.

Many people are calling this the Rockne Heritage Game.

Kickoff is at 3:30 Saturday.
