Arike's Easter Basket captured the second National Championship in Notre Dame Women's Basketball history.

Tonight (Monday), the 2018 team's legacy will be enshrined in the form of a National Championship banner in the rafters of Purcell Pavilion.

The shot will be hard to forget, and after today, Notre Dame fans will have a constant reminder of the team’s success.

In about 30 minutes, the 2018 National Championship will drop next to Head Coach Muffet McGraw’s other flag.

Here’s what the now defending National Champs had to say about closing the door on their 7 month long celebrations.

“I think it’s going to put the exclamation point on that season,” said McGraw. “Then we've got to focus on what's happening now and that was the past. I still look up there, though. It's going to be nice seeing two of now. "

“It’s going to be pretty cool now that we're really in Notre Dame history now,” said Arike Ogunbowale. “It'll be cool to see them up there, but like she said, we just have to move on from it and try to get another one."

“We made our mark on the history here at Notre Dame, which is a great university, said Jessica Shepard. “To have done that and to be able to say that we've done that forever is pretty cool, but we've definitely put that behind us and are focused on this year."

The banner dropped around 6:50 p.m. tonight.
