Opening of South Bend's winter amnesty building delayed until December 1
Even though the winter weather is moving in overnight, the opening of South Bend's winter amnesty building is delayed.
It's now expected to open December 1st.
The city is waiting for state approval regarding the building's occupancy limits and safety plans.
Leaders had hoped the old Cutting Tools building on East Tutt Street would be ready by the first of this month.
Once it opens, it should be able to house up to 40 men and 15 women.
