BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. (WSBT) — The owner of Orchards Mall has beat a deadline.
Our partners at WSJM radio tell us the owner delivered a re-investment plan to county commissioners ahead of Friday's deadline.
The once busy mall is nearly empty.
Berrien County Commissioner Chokwe Pitchford says he wants to help, but he needed to see a plan.
He says that plan could be shared soon.
But he says any plan would need collaboration between the owners and Benton Township government to work.
