'Other countries don't live with this' - Local group demands action on gun violence
This week we will mark one year since the Parkland School shooting where 17 people died.
A local group wants to make sure the victims are not forgotten.
The "Moms Demand Action" chapter in South Bend gathered to recognize "Gun Violence Survivors Week" this weekend.
Members say 96 Americans died of gun violence every day in the US.
“We’re coming together as Americans to say this is not acceptable," said Liz Digitale Anderson, chapter leader. "Other countries don’t live with this level of violence. There are things to do to make our voices heard. We can contact our legislators here in our community.”
The Moms Demand Action group has been in our area for 2 years.
