Plane makes emergency landing at South Bend Intl. Airport

The South Bend Fire Department was called to South Bend International Airport Friday night. A plane landing in South Bend had a halon bottle (fire extinguisher) that was leaking or possibly exploded in the cargo area.

The plane has landed safely around 6:30 p.m. There are no injuries, according to dispatch.

We are told the chemical was contained to the cargo area.
