Pro-life group targets Sen. Donnelly on abortion issues
SOUTH BEND — Get ready for a knock at your door.
A pro-life group is targeting Senator Joe Donnelly and his votes on abortion issues.
The Susan B. Anthony List held an event outside his South Bend office Thursday.
They say Senator Donnelly's record on pro-life votes has been spotty at best. So they will spend the next year knocking on doors and talking to voters about the issue.
"I'd like to tell Senator Donnelly that Hoosiers, especially our Hoosier laws, our Hoosier policies. We are pro-life, we are decidedly a pro-life state and we have expected you to represent us in Washington with a pro-life message. You have not done that. And our goal is to find someone who will," said Sue Swayze Liebel, Susan B. Anthony state campaign chairman.
Senator Donnelly's office released this statement, "Senator Donnelly is pro-life and has consistently supported legislation to prohibit taxpayer dollars from being used to fund abortions."
Senator Donnelly is up for re-election next year.
