Pulaski County may save some money this year by not having a primary election in May, according to the clerk.

Clerk JoLynn Behny says only two towns, Monterey and Medaryville, even have elections and none of the seats are contested.

The Pulaski County Election Board approved the idea Thursday night, but still has to get approval from county commissioners.

The clerk says not having a primary will save the county nearly $6,800.
