Today (Monday) a local school board is set to decide whether to close two of its elementary schools this fall.
Both Wolcott Mills Elementary and Lima-Brighton Elementary in the Lakeland School district dipped below 50 percent capacity for the past 2 years.
The superintendent is recommending closing both and transferring students to the remaining elementary school -- Parkside.
The consolidation would save the district more than $1 million.
The board vote is later today.
