Snowball fight! DTSB hosts Winterfest before Christmas
SOUTH BEND —
Downtown South Bend held some winterfest activities Sunday in anticipation of the Christmas holiday.
The gridiron for the old College Football Hall of Fame was the scene of a makeshift snowball fight.
Kids enjoyed 200 simulated snowballs. Organizers laid them across the field hoping to create an alternative to real snow.
They say Winterfest helps bring community members together during the holidays.
“We always are trying to make the downtown a more fun and vibrant place to be and experiences like this are really the heart of it all,” said Events Coordinator, Kylie Carter.
There was also a snowboard simulator inside the Doubletree hotel. People tried it out to get a hang for the slopes.
