South Bend Cubs offering peanut-free suite during June 3 game
SOUTH BEND —
Peanuts are a staple at most baseball games.
Which means people with severe peanut allergies can't enjoy America's favorite pastime like others.
The South Bend Cubs is offering families a chance to attend a game worry free.
The team is providing a peanut-free suite during its Sunday, June 3 game.
The room will get a thorough cleaning and all food provided will be peanut-free.
“We find every year that people are so appreciative because a lot of them won't come out to a baseball game. Peanuts and cracker jacks, that is a big thing for baseball games. When you are in the stands, there is residue everywhere. People are eating peanuts. That is scary especially when you have a severe allergy. That allergen can get on you and people have reactions fast,” said Erica Andert, support group leader.
This is the fifth year the Michiana Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Support Group has worked with the Cubs to offer this.
Tickets are $19.
You can get those by calling the ticket office and requesting the peanut-free suit.
You should do it fast, tickets sell out quickly.
