South Bend schools have as many as 100 unfilled teaching positions
Kids will soon be heading back to class in South bend, but will there be enough teachers?

That's according to Christian Sheckler with our reporting partners at the South Bend Tribune.
The president of the teacher's union says the job openings reflect a statewide and nationwide struggle to attract and keep teachers.
A recent study shows that, and ranked Indiana among the worst states for recruiting teachers and keeping them. The study by the Learning Policy Institute cites pay and working conditions as factors in the state's ranking.
If the district is unable to fill all of these positions, some classes need to be combined.
