Suspect arrested in Benton Township homicide

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. (WSBT) — A 40-year-old man is dead following a shooting in the 2700 block of Townline Rd.

Officers got the call before 3:45 Sunday afternoon and found the 40-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds; he died at the scene.

The suspect -- a 57-year-old man -- was arrested on scene and transported to the Berrien County Jail where he awaits arraignment on multiple charges, including open murder.

The victim has been transported Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine where an autopsy will be performed.
