Police say a man speeding to reach his wife after she was involved in a crash caused his own crash Tuesday morning in LaPorte. The crash injured three people.

The crash happened around 7 a.m. at 500 West and 400 South.

La Porte County Police Sgt. Tony Wallace said one of the drivers was in a hurry to reach his wife involved in a crash at Indiana 2 and 500 West.

His pickup truck crashed into another pickup truck pulling out from a stop sign, according to Wallace.

‘’He was in a hurry and he didn’t see him coming,’’ Wallace said.

Wallace said the speedometer in the truck driven by the husband was stuck on 80 miles per hour at the crash site.

Police have not released the names of anyone involved in the crash.

Whether anyone was hurt in the crash at Indiana 2 and 500 West and other details were not known.
