University Park Mall renovations way ahead of schedule

Contractors tackling the multi-million dollar renovation project at University Park Mall appear to be working ahead of schedule -- way ahead, in fact.

According to our news partners at the South Bend Tribune, everything should be done by this fall.

Workers are updating the food court and replacing tile across the mall.

Several new stores are planning to open their doors in the next few weeks.

Originally, the mall didn't plan to finish the project until around Thanksgiving.
