The owner of a mom-and-pop shop in Van Buren County took down a robbery suspect with a snow plow Monday morning.

Police say a masked 26-year-old Paw Paw man walked into Country Lakes General Store with a machete shoved down the front of his pants.

He then took off, grabbing scratch-off tickets.

The store owner chased him down using his truck's snow plow to knock the suspect into a ditch.

The suspect was transported to the hospital.

Since he didn't pull out the knife or make threats he only faces a retail fraud charge, not armed robbery.

It's unlikely the store owner will face any charges.
