WEATHER ALERT: Snow causing slippery road conditions Sunday

Photo from police

Police are warning drivers on the road that it's more slippery out there than you might think.

WSBT 22 meteorologist Ed Russo says snow should end this evening (Sunday). It will probably turn into freezing drizzle, which could make roads even worse.

The photos above from police show a LaPorte County cop car that was hit TWICE while responding to accidents, westbound on U.S. 30 just east of CR 800 W.

Luckily, they say the deputy whose car it was did not suffer injuries.

We've heard reports of a dozen accidents, and dispatch confirms many cars have ended up in ditches.

Roads, especially the Bypass, are incredibly slick -- use caution, slow down, and remember to keep your lights on!
