White Pigeon man feeds pets left at condemned mobile home park
A local mobile home park was condemned earlier this year and when people left, they also left many of their pets. One man is taking it upon himself to feed and care for them.
The mobile home park in White Pigeon.
The man says he brings food and fresh water to the animals every day.
At the beginning, he was putting out nearly 40 pounds of food.
“We pulled several out of here that were very friendly so I knew they were pets,” said Jeff Ferrero. “I'm usually not a pretty emotional guy but in the very beginning it was enough that it brought tears to my eyes when I walked into the park.”
Since Ferrero started his mission he has actually helped rescue more than 60 animals, even finding new homes for them.
He also rescued a chihuahua that was left tied to a tree.
