CMA prepares for semi-state at North Side Gym

Last season... Culver Acadamies won the Indiana state championship in Class 3A. They've spent the last 12 months defending that title, and now they're one win away from going back to Bankers Life.

The Eagles will face Marion Saturday in the Elkhart semi-state. So, Culver spent Wednesday afternoon practicing at NorthSide Gym getting a feel for the floor. The Eagles even played some crowd noise over the stereo system to simulate the rowdy atmosphere that they expect on Saturday night.

"I don't think there is anything more special than playing in a big gym like this and we know Marion is going to bring a lot of fans. We know this gym is going to be full of a lot of purple and gold and that makes it exciting. It makes it exciting for them," said Head Coach Mark Galloway.

"Well, Indiana basketball is nuts, so the further you go, the bigger the crowds, the bigger the gym. I'd probably say that's what I look forward to most, junior forward Deontae Craig added, "It's been really fun for us. Everyday in practice Coach says, 'pressure is a privilege' and having that target on our back all year has been fun. It's pushed us."
