Muffet McGraw got more good news just two weeks removed from winning her second National Championship. The top ranked recruit in the 2019 class has pledged to Notre Dame.

Samantha Brunelle said, "It's going to be amazing. She impacts them as players but she empowers them to be great women and I think that's amazing."

Samantha Brunelle, a 6-foot-2 forward out of Standardsville, Virginia, committed in front of a large crowd on Sunday afternoon. Brunelle picked the Irish over nine other schools including Virginia, Duke, NC State and Wake Forest.

Brunelle said, "It was definitely hard because I made some great relationships with a bunch of coaches, a bunch of schools. And like I said, they opened their doors to me and my family. So, it was definitely really hard to say no to everyone, but I was very confident in my decision with Notre Dame."

The forward averaged 30.0 points, 15.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 3.0 blocks and 2.2 steals per game in her junior season which earned her the Gatorade Player of the Year award in the state of Virginia. Brunelle led her William Monroe High School team to a 23-2 record and the program's first appearance in the state tournament in 30 years.
