ND women's basketball climbs to 3rd in AP poll
NOTRE DAME —
Fresh off their win over defending national champion South Carolina in the title game of the Gulf Coast Showcase, Notre Dame women's basketball jumped to third in the latest AP Top 25 college basketball poll.
The Irish got stellar performances from a pair of players in the title game. Junior guard Arike Ogunbowale paced Notre Dame with 23 points on 8-17 shooting from the field, while Jackie Young tallied her first career double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
Young was awarded the tournament's Most Valuable Player award while Ogunbowale was named to the All- Tournament team.
Notre Dame will hope to continue their winning ways on Wednesday as they continue their seven game road trip. The Irish will take on 22nd ranked Michigan with tip-off set for 6:00 p.m. EST.
