Notre Dame’s women basketball is getting ready for a tough challenge.
The Irish host Minnesota tomorrow, who is 5-1 and just outside the Top 25. Notre Dame has already beaten a pair of ranked teams this season -- but they also have four losses.
The biggest key for Muffet McGraw and her staff right now is trying to get a very young team to play with more consistency.
"Well, I think freshman and consistency is an oxymoron,” said McGraw. “I just don't think you're ever going to get that. I think they’re playing hard, which is important. One person can step up on a given day and that's great. It would be nice to know who that is going to be and could we get a little more consistency. I think that it’s a matter of youth and really that's our only problem right now.”
"It's just a matter of consistency right now,” said Anaya Peoples. “Playing each and every game like we played that last game and then just having it all click. We're so close to clicking, I feel it. Our rotations on defense, our talking, motivation. We're right there. It's coming, yeah, soon, because we don't like the taste of losing."
