Penn's defense was no match for the Ben Davis offense on Saturday.

In a battle of strength vs. strength, Ben Davis' won out, as the Giants beat Penn 63-14 in the 6A state championship game.

Ben Davis took the lead on its third play from scrimmage, when quarterback Reese Taylor got loose for a 76 yard touchdown, putting Penn behind 8-0.

A pair of special teams gaffes put them in a hole they couldn't recover from.

Two consecutive short pooch kickoffs were recovered by Ben Davis and converted into quick touchdowns. The Kingsmen trailed 21-0 less than four minutes into the game.

The Kingsmen defense, which surrendered just 69 points all season, allowed a 6A state finals record 63 on the night.
