Consistency is key for Irish this spring

Notre Dame football is about to enter the final week of the spring practice period.

The Fighting Irish have just three full practices remaining before they get a taste of real game action in the Blue Gold Game on Saturday.

For Irish head coach Brian Kelly he won't change his approach to how he prepares his team, but he will be focusing on two major things as they gear up for the spring game.

"Consistency and performance. We're going to need that with the schedule we play. We can't play up and down," said Kelly.

He added, "Who are going to be those guys that make plays for us when the big plays are needed. So, creating those situations in practice, that are fourth and goal or last play of the game, or two minute drill, game on the line, creating those situations and finding who those guys are that are going to step up as well as their performance play-in-and-play-out and practice-in-and-practice-out."
