ND's TJ Gibbs named ACC player of the week
NOTRE DAME —
Notre Dame sophomore guard TJ Gibbs was named the ACC Player of the Week.
The 6-foot-3 guard has filled the void left by senior captain Matt Farrell who remains out with an ankle injury.
Gibbs scored a game-high 22 points and pulled down seven rebounds, a career best, in an 88-58 Notre Dame win over North Carolina State. The guard followed that performance with an 18 point performance against Syracuse, a game the Irish won 51-49 capturing the team's third ACC win.
The Irish are ranked 25th in the coaches poll and sit atop the ACC standings at 3-0, tied with Clemson and Virginia.
Gibbs and the Irish will look for their fourth league win on Wednesday as they take on Georgia Tech at McCammish Pavilion in Atlanta.
