Today will be the nicer half of the weekend for outdoor activities because it will still be warm and dry. Highs today will be in the lower to mid 80s. The sky should be less hazy and milky because the winds in the upper levels of atmosphere will become more westerly, blowing the smoke from the Canadian wildfires away from Michiana. The wind will be out of the west at 5 to 10 mph.
Today will also be a great day to spend at the lakeshore! The swim risk at the beaches will be low with waves around a foot.
Becoming mostly cloudy overnight. Lows will be near 60 degrees. There will be a slight chance of rain late tonight into tomorrow morning.
Much-needed rain arrives tomorrow! A round of widespread, steady rain with a few rumbles of thunder will impact Michiana late tomorrow morning into the afternoon. Rainfall totals will likely range from 0.5 to 1.0". The clouds and rain on Sunday will likely keep temperatures down - highs are only expected to be in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees.
The start of next week will be cool for the middle of June. Highs on Monday will only be in the 60s. Temperatures will return to the 70s on Tuesday and highs will be in the 80s the rest of the week. More rain showers will be possible Monday into Tuesday as a slow-moving storm system spins over the Great Lakes.
